Mask Mandate for Ages 2-4 Upheld
Children ages 2-4, and all staff in such classrooms, must continue to follow the same masking requirements as previous.
During the current uptick in COVID cases, face coverings continue to remain our strongest defense for our youngest learners, who are not yet eligible to receive the vaccine. NYC Health Commissioner Dr. Ashwin Vasan has said we should expect COVID cases to continue to rise in the next two weeks, but the City continues to look for the earliest opportunity to make masks optional for students ages 2-4, so expect further changes in policy in the coming weeks. We will, of course, keep you posted on any changes.
