Dear P.S. 225 Families,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter, as we prepare for the first day of the 2022-2023 school year. Our staff is committed to reflecting on the work achieved last year, and as Chancellor Banks refers to our theme of this year, “reimagining” the vision for the upcoming school year. Two pillars that stand out most with regard to the vision of our Chancellor is his commitment to wellness and partnering with parents. I share this vision and enter the school year energized and excited about the year ahead.
Over the next few weeks our website, www.ps225k.org, will be updated with pertinent opening information, such as class/program information, our calendar, and of course, COVID safety protocols as we enter the new school year. We had a very robust summer rising program; keeping children safe, engaged and together. It gives me much hope we will continue this work in September and continue to elevate our children to new levels.
Our administrative team is working enthusiastically on welcoming our students back to the classroom, where we not only pick up where we left off but advance to even higher levels of academic success. Please note, the first day of school for all students is Thursday, September 8, 2022.
To ease the transition back to school, we ask all families to come to P.S. 225 on either Tuesday, September 6 or Wednesday, September 7 any time in between 9AM -12noon to pick up your child’s Welcome Packet. The packet will contain your child’s class/teacher assignment, COVID health screenings and Emergency Blue Cards which MUST be returned on the first day of school to your child’s teacher. This process will only take a few minutes, and you may come with or without your child. Welcome packets will be set up in the school cafeteria.
As our summer rising program comes to an end, I’d like to share my email address with you, should you have questions prior to our next communication. Please feel free to reach me at [email protected]
Enjoy the remaining days of summer. I wish you happiness, and good health.
